What is the IP Ecosystem We Want for Africa?
The 6th Edition of the All Africa IP Summit will be held from 12th – 14thNovember, 2025, Dakar, Senegal
The theme, “Building an Inclusive IP Ecosystem for Africa’s Future,” will drive discussions on leveraging IP to foster development, economic growth, regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and global competitiveness.
- IP for Inclusive Development: Empowering women and youth through IP. Building capacity for MSMEs and startups to leverage IP. Bridging the digital divide through equitable IP access.
- The Role of IP in AfCFTA Implementation: Implementing AfCFTA IP protocols. Strengthening regional value chains through IP, Boosting industrial development and export competitiveness.
- Fostering Innovation Through IP: Promoting technological innovation and digital creativity. Supporting African-led IP innovation. Harnessing traditional knowledge and cultural expressions for wealth creation.
- Policy and Legal Reforms for a Future-Ready IP System: Reviewing national and regional IP frameworks for inclusivity. Ensuring equitable access to IP for rural communities. o Addressing cross-border challenges in IP promotion, protection, compliance and enforcement.
- Africa Partnerships and Investments: o Mobilizing public-private partnerships for IP ecosystem development. o Attracting investment to boost IP across Africa. Building synergies between governments, academia, and industry.
The Summit is designed for professionals involved in intellectual property, including IP lawyers, policymakers, researchers, academics, business leaders, innovators, and students (Master’s Students, PhD candidates and post-doctoral students) interested in IP, manufacturers, inventors and anyone interested in Africa sustainable economic development.
Yes the summit is open to everyone including the diaspora community interested in supporting the positive growth and impact of the Africa IP system.

Are there exhibition or showcase opportunities?
Yes, businesses, startups, law firms, IP offices, and organizations can apply for exhibition booths or showcase slots to display products, services, and African IP-driven innovations.
Can academic institutions participate?
Absolutely. Universities and research institutions are welcome to present papers, participate in dialogues, and engage in capacity-building sessions tailored to emerging scholars and students.
Selected sessions will be recorded and made available to registered participants after the Summit. Details on accessing these recordings will be provided during the event.
We aim to provide translation services for key sessions.
Yes, every participant will be given a certificate of attendance via email after the summit
Absolutely! The Summit includes several networking and exhibition sessions, including coffee breaks, lunch sessions, and dedicated networking events to facilitate connections among attendees.

All Africa IP Summit Call for Papers (CFP)
The Call for Papers invites researchers, academics, and professionals to submit abstracts of their original work for presentation at the Africa IP Summit 2025. Selected papers will contribute to the summit’s discussions on IP and sustainable development.
Yes, we encourage submissions of papers. Please refer to the “Call for Papers” section on our website for submission guidelines and deadlines.
You can submit your abstract via the Call for Papers portal on our website https://africaipsummit.it-rc.org/call-forpaper while following the submission guidelines provided in the Call for Papers section
An abstract will be selected based on its originality, quality, alignment with the theme/sub-themes, topic of interest and capacity to provoke productive debate.
Accepted papers will be published in a reputable university press after the summit
All Africa IP Summit Registration FAQ
️Payment for the summit fee is grouped into categories
- Professional category for early bird $200 (31st August , 2025)
- Professional category for regular $400
The Summit fee covers access to all conference sessions, workshops, panel discussions, conference materials, meals (lunch and coffee breaks) during the conference days, access to exhibition, networking events, summit materials and certificate of attendance for those that need one.
All fees and charges are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits available.
You can register for the Summit through our official websitehttps://africaipsummit.it-rc.org/#register. Please follow the registration link, fill in the required details, and complete the payment process.
Yes, we offer 50% early bird discounts for the professional category completed on or before 31st August 2024.
Visit the travel and visa session of the summit for all the necessary visa information, however, all other passport holders need to obtain yellow fever vaccination certificate.
You can apply for a visa online. The Senegal eVisa is an Electronic Travel Authorization to enter Senegal. Senegal offers evisa for more than 100+ countries. Travelers can apply for evisa online and receive electronic travel authorization in PDF format. Upon arrival in Rwanda travelers can show the printed copy of the visa letter and get their passport stamped at Dakar International Airport.
Will visa support be provided?
Yes. The summit secretariat will issue an official invitation letter to facilitate your visa application.
We have partnered with several hotels to offer special discounted rates for Summit attendees, however delegates and participants are free to make their personal arrangement.
